Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2026
This policy explains what information gravity collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to anyone who uses gravity.
1. What we collect
We collect the following information:
- Account info — email address, username, display name, and profile picture. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which stores your login credentials on our behalf.
- Content you create — posts, photos, descriptions, tags, clothing item names and links, comments, ratings, likes, and follows.
- Basic usage data — timestamps for actions like creating posts or following users, used to operate the service.
2. How we use information
We use your information to:
- Operate the service and personalize your feed.
- Show your posts and profile to other users.
- Send in-app notifications about likes, comments, and follows.
- Investigate reports and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not run advertising on gravity.
3. Visibility of your content
Posts you share on gravity are visible to other signed-in users by default. Your profile, username, display name, and avatar are visible to anyone using the service. Do not post anything you would not want other people to see.
4. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run gravity:
- Clerk — handles sign-up, sign-in, and stores authentication credentials.
- Neon — hosts our PostgreSQL database where posts, profiles, and activity data live.
- UploadThing — hosts the photos you upload.
These providers have their own privacy practices and only receive the information they need to do their job.
5. Cookies
gravity uses cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Edit or delete individual posts at any time.
- Update your profile information from your account page.
- Request deletion of your account by emailing brendanthomaslam@gmail.com. When we delete your account, your posts, comments, likes, follows, and other personal records are removed.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems. Backups may retain residual copies for a short period before they are overwritten.
8. Children
gravity is not for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the service. Your continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
